Wash & Care Instructions

A Wetsuit Built to Last

We are fully committed to creating a great wetsuit for each individual. We stand behind every product we make because we put careful thought into creating a durable wetsuit.

Proper care can go a long way in extending the life of your wetsuit.

Look After Your Wetsuit and It Will Look After You

We recommend, you should always carefully read the instructions on the label of your wetsuit. We have outlined some Simpel wetsuit care guidelines below we hope you find the following information useful.

Wetsuit Care

ALWAYS WASH WITH COLD WATER AND NO SOAP (DON’T PUT IT IN THE WASHING MACHINE NOR TUMBLE DRYER)
Neoprene wetsuits require special care. It is vital to wash them carefully in order to remove all salt, sand and other residues before leaving them to dry.

ALWAYS LEAVE TO DRY STRETCHED OUT OR FOLDED IN HALF IN THE SHADE – NEVER IN THE SUN
After washing, wetsuits must be left to dry as mentioned, starting by turning them inside out. Please remember the sun and heat are the worst enemies of neoprene. Wetsuits must never be left to dry under direct sunlight, which can damage its inner lining and even cause it to detach.

HANDLE IT GENTLY SO IT LASTS LONGER
Suits must be removed gently, always using a mat or bucket. Beware of your fingernails, which can rip the neoprene. Please don’t overstretch the neoprene, as it can tear threads and seams. In the summer or in hot weather, it is vital to remove the suit from the car once you arrive at your destination. Wetsuits must always be stored hanging, without folding. Don’t remove the surf wax as you can damage the neoprene when attempting to remove the wax.

NECK “DISCOMFORT”

If you feel any discomfort in the neck area, we advise you to use a cream to avoid any kind of rash in the neck area.

Breaking Your Wetsuit In

A brand new wetsuit requires a break in phase and so we recommend you try your wetsuit in the water. Do not panic if your wetsuit feels too snug at first – neoprene naturally feels more snug on first wear, but will certainly break in after a few sessions. The more you utilize the wetsuit, you will notice that it molds to your body.

Swimsuit Care

AFTER EVERY USE
All swimwear should be hand washed after every use. Never twist your swimsuit to dry.

LAY FLAT TO DRY
Always stay away from direct sunlight. Never machine dry or dry clean. Be sure to lie flat or hang to dry.

HAND WASH
Your suit should be hand washed separately in cold water using very mild soap or specialty swimwear detergent. Never machine wash.

CAUTION
While ALL of the suits can be worn in pool or ocean water, they are not intended for strenuous physical water activity or long periods of time in heavily chlorinated water. Sun tan lotions, spas, and chlorinated pools may cause damage to your suit due to the harsh chemicals. Due to the nature of the dye, bright colors may fade or bleed.
